We got down and dirty as Official Fitness Partner at our first 5km mud run!
Slinging mud at each other only gets you dirty! That was the name of the game at this year’s first Muddy Princess Series mud run held in Joburg. As official fitness partner to the 5km outdoor obstacle event, the Planet Fitness South Africa team turned up the heat with an early morning warm-up on a gusty April day.
With the fun dial turned up to the max, a very loud field of 3 400 squeaky clean princesses with tutu’s all fluffed out, were given an energetic send-off!
“We love this new partnership, it’s great that women have a fun platform to feel safe and to let loose at an event designed specifically for them,” says Warren Sasman-Bowie, our PLANET’S events manager. “The sense of positivity and excitement was incredible as ladies of all different shapes and sizes, from different backgrounds helped each other over the obstacles, pushing through to the finish line together – it was an outstanding show of community, and we can’t wait for the next one!” Watch out for more Muddy Princess events coming up in the next 12 months in the Western Cape and KZN.

If you haven’t heard, glutes are in, and the team at Planet Fitness has just unpacked the latest workout machines designed to shape-a-bum! We will be zoning areas for women to have a space where they can train comfortably on this must-have equipment – starting with Fourways, Wanderers and Plattekloof Clubs. Way more fun than doing squats and lunges, one of the biggest benefits of glute training is the prevention of lower back pain, and yes, shaping and firming your tush!
